“How will I know if it’s love?”
“You’ll just know”

Those words always bothered me
I couldn’t understand them
They made love seem so abstract

But now I understand
There’s no other explanation
Love just is
There are no words to explain
The feeling of being in love
Love is a feeling
Unique to each individual
Love is abstract

So when someone asks me
“How did you know it was love?”
I can confidently answer
“I just knew”

The Bus Stop Dialogues

I. A young man at the bus stop turns to me and softly asks "Why aren't you wearing shoes?" He taps the faded leather of his suedo-skin and his eyes smile in a gentle lilt before his mouth does. I've been trying to write for some time now but nothing seemed to be working. I read the line "You'll Just Know" which I had written down a while ago for a reason I can't remember now. But it got me thinking and this is what I ended up with.
This poem is actually very true for me. I couldn't understand how you would just know when it was love, at least not until recently when I realized its true, you really do just know
